‘Mission Mangal’ Song: Akshay & Crew Have Mars on Their Minds
The film is based on ISRO’s 2013 Manglyaan mission.
The makers of Mission Mangal have released the first track from the film. Titled ‘Dil Mein Mars Hai’, the catchy number has been performed by Benny Dayal and Vibha Saraf and composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

The video for the song features its leads Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar and Sharman Joshi as scientists preparing to launch their first mission to Mars. The song sequence give us a glimpse into the lives of the three women as they come together to work towards executing a successful launch while trying to balance their personal lives. As the title of the song suggests, all of them have a common goal of launching India’s first space probe to Mars.
Mission Mangal is inspired by the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Mars Orbiter Mission, aka Mangalyaan, which was launched in 2013 making India the first Asian nation to reach Mars’ orbit and the first in the world to do it in it inaugural try. The film has been directed by Jagan Shakti and stars an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulhari and Nithya Menen. It hits theatres on 15 August.
