Music Rights of Udta Punjab Sold for Record Breaking Money!

The movie stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt for the first time ever sharing screen together.

An outsized price tag for music made headlines two years ago when the makers of the Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo struck a Rs 17 crore deal with T-Series, even before the film had gone on floors, for the ownership of its music rights.

Now, Abhishek Chaubey’s crime thriller Udta Punjab has shattered that record. The producers of this Shahid-Alia-Kareena-Diljeet starrer have sold the rights to the film’s soundtrack and album to the same label for a whopping sum of Rs 18 crore!
