Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro had a pretty lukewarm pre-release buzz to it and now that low anticipation seems to have translated into the film’s opening day collections. According to Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Ashutosh Gowariker film has collected just about Rs 8.80 crore at the domestic box-office on Friday.

The overseas response to the film seemed to be better

The day one collections of Mohenjo Daro will be a huge disappointment for Hrithik Roshan. Remember the actor’s last release Bang Bang took a Rs 27.54 crore opening. While keeping the film’s historical setting in mind, one would not have expected Mohenjo Daro to have an opening similar to Bang Bang but the single digit Rs 8 crore collection will be worrying for the producers. The period drama now needs to do exceedingly well over the weekend, but given the reviews and word of mouth around the film, that looks impossible.
