Ash King, Momina, Qaran Collaborate for First Time

Singers Ash King and Momina Mustehsan have unveiled their first single together. The song titled "Kishmish" has been written by composer-producer-lyricist Qaran Mehta of "Tareefan" fame along with Siddhant Kaushal.

"The song has been brilliantly composed by Qaran. It promises to instantly elevate one's mood and take them down the lane of romance," Ash King said in a statement.

"'Kishmish' also has a very new and refreshing touch to it, which we are hoping will be loved by everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed recording the song and hope to collaborate with the team again in future," he added.

Ritesh Batra's 'Photograph' Gets World Premiere at Sundance Film Festival

Ritesh Batra’s film Photograph, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra, will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and European premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. The film is slated for release on 8 March.

Bhandarkar to Present Film Which Will Carry Forward 'the Apu Trilogy'

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar will present a feature film titled "Avijatrik", which will take forward Satyajit Ray's iconic "The Apu Trilogy".

Apu, the legendary enduring and endearing character, will return to the silver screen after 60 years in the Bengali period drama feature "Avijatrik", to be directed by Subhrajit Mitra.

Happy to come on board to present the film, Bhandarkar said in a statement: "As a director and a film buff, I have been a great admirer and fan of Satyajit Ray and the journey of Apu always fascinated me. I have known Gaurang Jalan who is co-presenting the film with me, for over a decade now, and hope this will be a visual treat to all film lovers globally, including the Bengali diaspora."

The storyline is based on the concluding part of the epic novel "Aparajito", written by Bengali litterateur, late Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay.

Barun Sobti Turns Sports Agent in ‘22 Yards’ Trailer

TV actor Barun Sobti will be be seen on the big screen in 22 Yards. The film follows the story of a sports agent who must rebuild his career after he finds himself at the centre of a scandal when deals he brokers go wrong. Naomi Watts Boards 'Wolves and Villagers' Series

Actor Naomi Watts is all set to star in the short-form series "Wolves and Villagers" for streaming service Quibi.

According to Variety, the new series will be executive produced by Jason Blum along with Stuart Blumberg, who will also be penning the script.

Quibi co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg termed the series "Fatal Attraction 2.0". However, the plot details have not been revealed.

Watts, 50, most recently featured in Netflix series "Gypsy" and Showtime's "Twin Peaks" revival.

Everyone Tentative to Speak as They Don't Know Facts of Case: Richa Chadha on Hirani

Bollywood has largely been silent about the sexual assault allegation against filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and actor Richa Chadha believes that is because they are not aware of the facts of the case.

Hirani is the latest name to be called out for sexual harassment with a woman "assistant" alleging in an article in HuffPost India that he sexually abused her more than once between March and September 2018 while working on "Sanju".

When asked if the industry was quiet about Hirani as he is a powerful director, Richa told reporters, "It isn't power structure. I think everyone is tentative because they don't know the facts of the case. Legally, a publication is allowed to run a story because they vet it with their legal team.

Doordarshan Plans to Have Its Own OTT Platform

Doordarshan, India's public service broadcaster, is working towards plans to launch its own OTT (over-the-top ) platform, as the consumption of entertainment and infotainment has witnessed a rise in the country.

"OTT is an important platform. Doordarshan is also planning to have its own digital platform where it can put out its content which can be available worldwide.

"CEOs of Prasar Bharati and Doordarshan are working on a project to evolve an online platform for the viewers," Supriya Sahu, Director General, Doordarshan, told IANS here on Friday.

Shri Rajput Karni Sena, the outfit which famously led a movement against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat, has claimed the outfit is not involved in the protests against Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Tendulkar Joins Anil Kapoor to Announce 'Selection Day' New Season

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar engaged in a Twitter conversation with actor Anil Kapoor to announce the second season of "Selection Day".

Tendulkar took to Twitter, wondering when "Selection Day" would return for its second innings.

To this, Anil, who has backed the series based on the novel of the same name by Booker Prize-winning author Aravind Adiga, responded: "'Selection: Day Part 2' is releasing very soon! And you know it's going to be ekdum.... well you know the rest already."

He was hinting at his popular dialogue: "ekdum jhakaas" (absolutely amazing).

The official Twitter handle of Netflix then announced that "Selection Day: Part 2" will start streaming from April 22 this year.

Actress Nushrat Bharucha, who was last seen on-screen in "Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety", says she feels blessed being a part of the quirky comedy film "Dream Girl", which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana.

On being a part of "Dream Girl", Nushrat said: "I like this quirky comedy space a lot. Ayushmann is of course really good at picking these kind of films. I am really blessed being part of 'Dream Girl' because that film's script is really funny and quirky."

Talking about her forthcoming film "Turram Khan", Nushrat said: "I am working in ‘Turram Khan' with Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao. It's like a dream combination. I wanted to work with them from many years and finally, I am working with them."

Actress Dia Mirza says women have long endured a culture of silence, and because of that, sexual predators have got encouragement.

Dia was interacting with the media at a panel discussion on "Harvey Weinstein - The Inside Story", along with Swara Bhasker and documentarian Anant Patwardhan here on Thursday. It was hosted as part of &Prive HD's &Prive Soiree, a regular on-ground engagement by the channel.

The actress said: "I feel every woman should watch this film to understand how society functions, especially people in positions of power. More than anything else, it will encourage more women to come forward with their stories because we have long endured a culture of silence.

"I think because of silence of women, sexual predators have got encouragement, so I feel when women will talk openly about these issues then only, we will be able to see the change."
