Vishwaroopam 2 Trailer: Kamal Haasan Is Back With a Bang
Can the film live up to its predecessor?
The much-awaited trailer of Kamal Haasan’s bilingual thriller, Vishvaroopam 2 released amidst much fanfare on 11 June. While Dangal actor Aamir Khan digitally launched the Hindi version of the trailer, it was Shruti Haasan and Jr NTR who did the honours for the Tamil and Telugu versions.
The film has been directed by Kamal Haasan, who has also penned the script along with Atul Tiwari.

The sequel to Vishwaroopam is said to be a political spy thriller starring Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jermiah, Shekhar Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nasser, Anant Mahadevan, Yusuf Hussain and Rajendra Gupta.
Vishwaroopam, despite good reviews, courted a lot of controversy when it released in 2013 for its portrayal of the Indian security services' participation in the “war on terror”. Protests by Muslim civic organisations led to a ban of the film in Tamil Nadu followed by overseas markets like Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Singapore. The film was later released after the morphing/ muting of controversial scenes.
Vishwaroopam 2 is slated to release on 10 August.
