No, SRK Is Not Going to Play the Villain in Vijay’s Thalapathy 63

After reports circulated that Shah Rukh Khan will be playing the villain opposite Tamil actor Vijay in director Atlee’s next, tentatively titled Thalapathy 63, sources close to the film have shot the rumours down.

“These reports are entirely false. Shah Rukh ji is not playing any cameo and is no way part of this project. The next schedule will begin in Delhi shortly. Any new addition to the cast will be officially made by the makers,”

Rumours started when Shah Rukh and Mersal director Atlee were spotted seated next to each other at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, enjoying a match. A new report claimed that SRK would be the “main villain” in 15 minute role where he would fight Viay.

Thalapthy 63 as the film has been affectionately dubbed is a sports drama where Vijay reportedly plays the role of women’s football coach. He has been receiving special physical training to get into the character’s (football) shoes.

The film also stars Nayanthara, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Jackie Shroff and Vivek. The producers recently had a football pitch built on a budget of Rs 6 crore to shoot major portions of the film. It will feature music by AR Rahman,
