‘Ribbon’ Trailer: Kalki & Sumeet’s Simple Film for Urban India
Starring Sumeet Vyas and Kalki Koechlin, ‘Ribbon’ aims to deal with issues that plague urban India.
Sumeet Vyas and Kalki Koechlin come together in Ribbon, a film about an urban couple dealing with an untimely pregnancy. The characters seem very dynamic, especially seeing how they handle home and office situations.
Ribbon, with its unconventional storyline, may not appeal to the masses. Then again, when have Kalki Koechlin or Sumeet Vyas played conventional roles?

The trailer shows how the couple are going through run-of-the-mill problems, like worrying about EMIs and so on, when she finally gets pregnant. Eventually, we learn that even though Kalki is first opposed to the idea of having a child, she eventually goes through with the pregnancy.
Ribbon seems to span over a few years, as it ends in ambiguity of the family’s future.
Ribbon releases on 3 November, and is Rakhee Sandilya’s feature film debut.
