According to reports, another whopping Rs 100 crore is being added to the reported Rs 400 crore budget of the film to shoulder the high-end VFX.
2.0 is now scheduled to release on Republic Day 2019 after repeated delays. According to reports, director Shankar, known for his attention to detail, had been unhappy with the initial VFX work. The makers want to ensure the VFX of the film matches international standards. According to DNA, this is what has led to the infusion of more money into the project.
