The popular band One Direction took home the Top Group/Duo award. They were also named Top Touring Artist, making it a happy night for the band, in what was one of their first public appearances since former band member Zayn Malik walked away from the group. Their fans were delighted to see Liam Payne give a shout-out to their ‘brother’ Zayn saying, “there’s one more person to share this with and that’s our brother Zayn, so thank you very much.”

Kanye West’s performance was more smoke and less fire! (Photo: AP)

Kanye West opened his two-song set with an extravagant and smoky performance of All Day from his upcoming album, Swish. West was hardly visible covered in plumes of smoke and his track All Day had to be continuously bleeped out. West then went on to rock the evening with Black Skinhead before ending his five-minute appearance. He closed the award night but the fans weren’t too impressed.
