Based on Aravind Adiga's eponymous book and produced by Anil Kapoor Film Company and Seven Stories Ltd, Selection Day is a coming-of-age drama about two brothers who are raised by their strict father obsessed about his children becoming star cricketers. The series, which releases on Netflix on 28 December, stars Mahesh Manjrekar, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajesh Tailang and newcomers Yash Dholye and Mohammad Samad.

Set in Badhona Vilage in Madhya Pradesh, Selection Day is a story about acceptance, love and ambition. It revolves around Manju, a 14-year-old, who develops a friendship with his elder brother's greatest cricket rival.
