After playing the cop Sartaj Singh in the Netflix show Sacred Games, Saif Ali Khan is all set to star in a new web series. Titled Tandav, the show will revolve around Indian politics.

Saif will play the role of a politician and the actor says that his character will be on the lines of Chanakya. “My character is Chanakya-like, in the guise of a youth leader who comes from a privileged background and aspires to become the prime minister,” Saif said in a statement.

Chanakya is considered the pioneer of political science and economics in India.

“I don’t want to use American examples, but it’s along the lines of House Of Cards, although set within the framework of Indian politics.”

While the actor didn’t reveal what OTT platform the show will air on, he said that it will be on the lines of the Netflix popular show, House of Cards, which dealt with American politics.

“I don’t want to use American examples, but it’s along the lines of House Of Cards, although set within the framework of Indian politics. The plot takes into account various factions like Dalit politics and UP cops and the whole nexus between them,” Khan was quoted saying in an article in Hindustan Times.

Starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright in the lead, House of Cards, told the story of a Democrat, who climbs his way to the presidential office. The show is based on author Michael Dobbs’ novel by the same name.
