Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Robin Wright is set to return as President of the United States in the sixth and final season of the award-winning landmark series House of Cards. The sixth season of the series that almost invented the ‘binge mode’ is set to hit the streaming service on 2 November.

After several allegations of sexual assault against Kevin Spacey emerged, Netflix severed ties with the actor and Robin Wright was cast as the main lead. Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear as well as Cody Fern will return to this eight-episode season alongside Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Emmy Award Nominee Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver.

The definitive political drama has received 53 Emmy nominations to date. There’s a lot of curiosity around the cast, how the plot will explain the absence of Spacey’s Frank Underwood and more.

The last season came to a close with Claire, Franks’ wife, swearing in as President and looking into the camera coldly and quipping, "My turn."

The series was created by Beau Willimon and is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth, with MRC as the studio, for Netflix.
