The trailer to Netflix’s first original Marathi film has been released. Titled Firebrand, it explores the complexities of modern-day relationships against the backdrop of a courtroom. A determined lawyer who fights for women’s rights must navigate her own marriage while being embroiled in her client’s battle against her cheating husband.

Firebrand is directed by National Award-winner Aruna Raje and produced by Priyanka Chopra’s production house Purple Pebble Pictures. It stars veteran Marathi actors such as Usha Jadhav, Girish Kulkarni, Sachin Khedekar and Rajeshwari Sachdev.

The film will be available on Netflix in 190 countries, including India, from 22 February.
