The makers of Logout dropped the film’s trailer on Tuesday (8 April). The clip opens with Pratyush (Babil Khan) aka Pratman, a 26-year-old influencer, saying in a voiceover, "We don't just watch things on the phone. We live in it. It's not a distraction. It's our world. But the people around us don't understand.”
Watch the trailer here:
In a world where almost everyone is stuck to their screens, Pratyush seems to have cracked the code – he’s on the verge of reaching 10 million followers; his one unfulfilled dream. But things soon go downhill for him when he misplaces his phone.
In an even darker turn of events, his phone becomes a bargaining chip in the hands of a fan desperate to be noticed by him, by hook or by crook. When he loses control of his digital persona and, in connection, his real life, what will Pratyush be willing to do to get it back?
Talking about his role, Khan said in a statement, “This role truly pushed me out of my comfort zone, immersing me in the digital world — a space that’s both fascinating and dangerously unpredictable. Playing a modern-day influencer and navigating the complexities of virtual success was a unique challenge, especially since my character is so different from who I am in real life.”
Logout, directed by Amit Golani and written by Biswapati Sarkar, also stars Rasika Dugal, Nimisha Nair, and Gandharv Dewan. The film, produced by Posham Pa Pictures and Digital 18 Media Pvt. Ltd, is slated for release on 18 April on Zee5.
