Tom Cruise turns a year older on 3 July, a little hard to digest, but true. From Risky Business (1983) to Edge of Tomorrow (2014), the star has amazed us with his sheer versatility for over 3 decades now. And Tom has also given us a memorable time off-screen as well. Here are four of our favourite crazy Cruise moments:
4. Cruise’s Psycho Moment
When Brooke Sheilds admitted to using anti-depressants to fight her post partum depression, Cruise said something which raised quite a few eyebrows. In an TV interview, the actor talked about the evils of prescription drugs and psychiatry, stressing that he didn’t believe in either of the two.
3. Cruise’s ‘Egg Head’ Moment
Jimmy Fallon accepted and completed a task that should be right up there in the Mission Impossible series! He made Cruise smash an egg on himself (not once but twice in a row), in a playful round of Egg Roulette, which the actor lost miserably. But the star was a good sport and laughed out loud, even though he was the only one with egg on his face!
2. Cruise’s Wet Surprise Moment
Now, this was something Tom was totally unprepared for. During the premiere of his film War of the Worlds in London, a fake reporter decided to play a prank on the actor by squiring water on his face with his fake mic. It turned out to be a war of words with Cruise repeatedly calling the prankster a “jerk”.
1. Cruise’s Crazy Couch Moment
So, why would anybody jump on a couch while on TV and just not any couch it’s Oprah’s couch! Yes, Tom Cruise famously did that in 2005 when he went on Oprah’s show to announce the new love of his life - Katie Holmes. The couple later got married, which finally ended up in a divorce in 2012. Social media just celebrated 10 years of Tom Cruise’s couch jump in May this year!
