Your favourite childhood memory just got a massive revamp! If you remember the world of Mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera as innocent – or at least, not too treacherous – you may have to revisit that memory, thanks to the latest trailer of the movie launched by Disney.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the movie The Jungle Book is a live-action remake of the 1967 classic movie, and is partially animated. While directing a classic such as this, however, one is not only bowed down by the expectations of a previous cinematic gem – but also the original Rudyard Kipling books, which are close to every Indian reader’s heart.

Jungle Book, which hits theatres April next year, stars newcomer Neel Sethi as Mowgli – along with awe-worthy stalwarts such as Bill Murray as Baloo the bear, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera the panther, Idris Elba as Shere Khan the evil tiger and Christopher Walken as King Louie.

While none of their voices can be heard in the absolutely spine-chilling thriller, you do hear Scarlett Johansson’s voice as Kaa, inviting and luring both Mowgli – and you – into the heart of a roaring Indian jungle.
