For all the Dhoom fans, Christmas arrived a week earlier when Yash Raj Films played Santa and shared the poster of Dhoom Reloaded on its Twitter page. And within minutes you could feel the adrenaline rise, and see high-speed ‘likes’ and ‘retweets’ piling on.

The unveiling of the poster led to round of ‘guess who’ among Dhoomaniacs – who will be cast in the negative lead?

The Quint also decided to take part in the guessing game and list some of possible contenders.

Salman Khan

If rumours are to be believed, then Bhai’s name is the first to pop up. And wouldn’t it be a dream for Salmaniacs to watch Salman Khan sitting behind the wheels? What could be a better timing than this. After more than a decade, Sallu Bhai has got the license to kill, oops, drive!

If the Indian judiciary could not charge him then, there is noway Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra can ever catch him. A safe ride for Bhai!

Deepika Padukone

You don’t need a man to kick some butt and beat Abhishek and Uday in their chor-sipahi game. All you need is a Deepika Padukone. Yeah!

It’s time to break the Dhoom stereotype casting. We’ve already seen Deepika’s unbridled beauty in the battlefield, with some amazing sword work. Maybe now is the time for her to try some cool bike tricks. ’Cuz we know she’ll ‘pull’ her fans to the nearest theatre on the First Day First Show and ring the Dhoom cash register.

Ranveer Singh

The maverick actor has proven his acting skills in Bajirao Mastani, and all that the filmy duniya is doing right now is singing Singh’s praises. And the film’s drool-worthy USP combination would be back – six-pack and a sports bike (remember John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan?). Sorry Aamir, it’s not just us, but the figures of Dhoom and Dhoom 2 says everything.

Sanjay Dutt

We’re assuming that the film will go on floor sometime next year. If such is the schedule, then the chances of Sanju baba playing the role of the cool Khalnayak (again) are pretty good. Let’s admit it, he aced it as a khalnayak. Also, March is Sanjay Dutt’s ghar-wapsi and the man would need more than just attending parties. He’ll need a film.
