Ab toh Dangal hoga!

It’s a Dangal-wala Friday. The aam aadmi can finally watch the much-awaited Aamir Khan film, which has garnered rave reviews from critics.

When I went online to book my tickets, I noticed something among the list of Dangal shows: an “exclusive” screening for women.

“Exclusively for women”. You read that right. But what is the difference? I was curious. Here’s what I found when I clicked the link:

As it turns out, there is only one show that is “exclusively for women”. Oh, and it’s an afternoon show. Hmmm...

Seeing as to how Dangal is a story about women empowerment, Bollywood appears to be making the right move with an “exclusive” show for women. But boss, having just one show in the afternoon is where the problem lies.

These “exclusive” shows seem to be catering to mostly empty halls.

Do they think all “chhories” (women) are free in the afternoon? What about work and other commitments?

Or is this particular show timing specifically aimed at housewives? Even if it is, why can’t women go for ‘exclusive’ shows in the evening? Is it because the organisers think it’s not safe for women to step out alone in the evening?

Sorry guys, but yeh toh haanikarak hai!
