Coldplay’s Chris Martin surprised Delhi with an unplanned gig on Wednesday evening. Something bigger in the offing?

Delhi couldn’t have asked for a better surprise when all of them landed up for an unplanned gig at the Summerhouse Cafe near Hauz Khas.
Chris Martin is popular international band Coldplay’s lead vocalist.
An impromptu gig will always elicit two kinds of reactions, however – both extreme. While one bunch of fans screamed themselves hoarse with joy because they were there, another lot rued on social media the chance that they had missed.
Singer Vishal Dadlani posted some pictures on Twitter and Instagram that set the ball rolling.
AIB’s Rohan Joshi too posted a video of the event – captioning it in the wiseacre way that only he can.
Coldplay fans have been clamouring for the band to schedule a performance in the country for years now. Even die-hard fans had no idea the band was in town till this sudden welcome surprise!
So what led to this gig?
Indie singer Raghu Dixit’s tweet may have dropped a hint – or two.
Is he talking about the gig? Or is there a bigger project under the wraps here?

One imagines Coldplay would be very happy to hear themselves rendered such pleasing compliments on social media – as also receiving all that adulation and adoration that Indian fans are bestowing on them.
