Considering Rajinikanth’s craze and popularity, it’s no surprise that his latest flick Kabali might have collected a whopping Rs 100 crore worldwide on the film’s opening day alone. While official figures and estimates are yet to come in, the film’s producer Kalaipuli S Thanu believes that it is highly likely for Kabali to have broken all records.
Pa Ranjith’s Kabali reportedly released in 8000-10000 screens all over the world, including 480 screens in the US, 490 in Malaysia and more than 500 in the gulf countries.
While we eagerly wait for box office numbers to validate the success of Kabali’s first day, fan frenzy across the world is proof that Rajinikanth’s superstardom is worth way more.
Thanu also recalled the first time he met Rajinikanth in 1978, as the distributor of Bairavi. In 1984 when Thanu turned producer with Arjun starrer Yaar (1985), Rajinikanth appeared in a cameo in the film. The duo have been inseparable ever since.
