Baahubali 2 director SS Rajamouli has posted a video of himself requesting protestors in Karnataka to stop their agitation to ban Baahubali 2’s release in the state. Certain pro-Kannada groups have been protesting against actor Sathyaraj’s (who plays Kattappa in the Baahubali films) alleged anti-Karnataka comments that he made 9 years ago over the Cauvery dispute.

Speaking in Kannada, Rajamouli begins the video by saying that he isn’t very fluent in the language and so must be forgiven if he makes any mistakes.

In his video appeal Rajamouli has requested the protestors to allow the sequel of Baahubali to release smoothly in the state. He says that Sathyaraj’s alleged comments were not an issue all these years, and that several of the actor’s films including Baahubali have released in the state in the past. The director asks the protestors to not drag his film into the controversy since Sathyaraj is neither the director or producer of the film and is only playing a part as a cast member.
