A sculptor by the name of Daniele Basso has created a unique statue of the Marvel superhero Iron Man. The statue has been made to honour the superhero for sacrificing his life to the save the universe in Avengers: Endgame. The statue is made of steel and brass and is erected in Forte dei Marmi, Italy. It is a part of a 40-month long exhibit called Oltre Verso in Italy.

The statue is that of the superhero Iron Man, played by actor Robert Downey Jr., in his iconic landing pose.

The inscription below the statue reads:

“The first monument dedicated to Iron Man in the year of his death in the cinematic world, we celebrate Tony Stark as a man who dedicates his life’s fortunes to fight for the ideals he believes in… reminding us that we are all the protagonists of our time – that the future of humanity depends on our decisions … that all of us must be heroes!”

The artist took to social media to share a photo of the statue. The caption of his Instagram post reads:

“Iron Man is alive and well...and he is in Forte dei Marmi!!
Iron Man has a magnetic heart, but I have a sensitive artist's heart! And the enormous appreciation I am receiving for my sculpture thrills me!
Thank you all and remember: the future of humanity depends on our choices...all of us must and can be heroes!”

Avengers: Endgame released in April 2019. It is the last movie in the Avengers franchise.
