So, La La Land won the Academy Awards for 'Best Picture'. Ha! No it didn't...it was Moonlight. But, we all remember the epic mix-up on stage last week which made everyone say ‘oh-no-they-didn't’, after Warren Beatty accidentally announced the wrong movie.

Another one of those ‘memorable’ moments, one that almost went unnoticed, happened when actor Freida Pinto-turn-saviour to help utilise the leftover food from parties organised over the Oscars weekend to feed around 800 homeless people.

Like every year, the elaborate and fancy menu included potatoes with caviar, braised short ribs, chicken pot pie, Oscar-shaped matzo crackers with smoked salmon, gold-dusted popcorn and more. It was catered by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

The Slumdog Millionaire actor was part of an initiative by the food technology company Copia, based in San Fransisco, under which the excess food was utilised in an effective manner.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Pinto said: “Our aim is to ensure that no one goes hungry in our film and TV town of Los Angeles by recovering leftover foods from all of our big parties and events.”
