Daniel Craig, who starred in four Bond films, is gunning for a return to the franchise.

According to a report in Independent, Craig was considering coming back to the 007 series. The Bond actor was initially unsure about returning for more films after Spectre which released in 2015.

According to the report, sources believe Craig has “changed his mind” and that franchise producer Barbara Broccoli has “secured” the actor.

Not only Craig, the producer also wants to bring back Adele to record the film’s background score. She previously sang the theme of Grammy winning song, Skyfall the most profitable film to date.

“Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners. It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong consensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again. As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive,” sources to Independent.

While it remains unclear who will direct the next 007 film, reports claim that director of the Dark Knight series, Christopher Nolan is considering stepping into Sam Mendes’ shoes.

While there has been no official confirmation; Nolan, in an interview with Playboy expressed interest in being a part of the franchise in some capacity.

“[I’m tempted to do] a Bond movie, definitely,” Nolan said to Playboy. “I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it.”

"You'd have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they're getting along very well," Nolan told Playboy.

Rumours were further stoked w hen the filmmaker’s production company, Syncopy, was recently added to Bond 25’s IMDB page.

The next James Bond film is expected to go on floors in 2018 with an eye to a release at the end of that year.
