Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen, took to Instagram to announce his wedding with TV actor and long time girlfriend, Charu Asopa. They tied the knot in a court wedding on 7 June. The couple shared photographs from outside the court, where Rajeev was seen wearing a white kurta-pyjama and Charu donned a beautiful red sari.

Rajeev captioned the post, “I Rajeev Sen take Charu Asopa as my lawful wife”. Charu also shared the picture with a similar caption. Rajeev Sen is a model, while Charu is a popular actor who shot to fame with the TV show Mere Angne Mein.

Recently, Sushmita Sen had shared photographs of the couple announcing their engagement. The photos featured Rajeev and Charu along with Sushmita and her partner Rohman Shawl.

In a recent interview, Sushmita Sen opened up about suffering from an endocrine disorder. She revealed for the first time that she had fallen “violently ill” and diagnosed with a hormone deficiency in 2014. She was prescribed to take steroids for her entire life. In 2016, she was finally off steroids as she successfully battled the disorder.

Sushmita Sen started her career way back in 1994 when she was crowned Miss Universe. She was only 18 years old then. Recently, on 23 May she celebrated the 25th anniversary of her Miss Universe title. She took to Instagram to share a long heartfelt message about the incident.

“As we celebrate 25years of making History, of India winning Miss Universe for the very first time...I want to remember & Thank the people of my second home,” she wrote on Instagram.
