After reports of Hrithik Roshan’s sister, Sunaina Roshan, being kept under critical observation surfaced online, Sunaina slammed the false reports on Twitter saying she is ‘out with friends and partying’. A Times of India report, on 9 June, claimed that Sunaina’s health had deteriorated over the past few days and she had been kept under critical watch for the coming 24 hours. The report said that she had been facing issues because of her psychological condition, bipolar disorder.

Sunaina was quick to respond to the rumors and tweeted, “Surprised to read about me being critical in hospital. Hello Times of India. I am out with friends and partying! Pls get your facts right.”

A few years back, Sunaina was also diagnosed with cervical cancer and which she successfully battled. She had penned her experience in her blog called ‘Zindagi by Sunaina Roshan’. She also wrote about the phase where she went through depression.

“There are still occasions when I do get my bouts of anxiety, which is also a form of depression but I have had to accept that it is situational and have the will to get out of it. I still do go to see my psychiatrist once a month just like a health follow up routine and discuss if there are issues that make me anxious, so that the advise and medications can keep it in check. I still carry SOS anti-anxiety mouth dissolving tablets in a handbag. I still resort to medications at times and I am not shy or scared about it.”

Earlier this year, her father Rakesh Roshan had undergone a surgery after he was diagnosed with early stage of squamous cell carcinoma of the throat (throat cancer).
