K-Pop sensation Kim Jong-hyun, the lead singer of South Korea's top boy band SHINee, passed away on Monday after being taken to hospital unconscious. According to several agency reports, Jonghyun, as Kim Jong-hyun was popularly known, sent a text message to his sister hours before he committed what appears to be suicide.
According to Metro, Jonghyun texted his sister: “It’s been too hard. Please send me off. Tell everyone I’ve had a hard time. This is my last goodbye.”
He was found unconscious by the police in a Seoul apartment, where the singer had checked in for two nights.
According to the Sun, a statement has been released that says: "On December 18, 2017 at 4:42PM Jonghyun's older sister reported to Police that her brother was about to commit suicide. We went to his residence in Chungdam and discovered that he had attempted to commit suicide. Emergency responders were with us at the time so we rushed him to the Konkuk University Hospital in a state of cardiac arrest."
