Sonam Calls Aishwarya Meme ‘Disgusting’, Vivek Takes a Dig at Her

Vivek Oberoi had recently sparked controversy with a tweet of his. He got criticized for sharing a meme that compared stages of election polls to ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai and her relationships. The actor shared a viral image on twitter that labeled photos of Aishwarya with Salman Khan, Vivek and husband Abhishek Bachchan as ‘opinion poll’, ‘exit poll’ and ‘result’ respectively. Many Twitter users found Vivek’s post unsavoury.
In the tweet, Vivek wrote, “Haha! creative! No politics here....just life.”
Among the many people who reacted was none other than Sonam Kapoor. The actor took to Twitter to refer to the meme as “disgusting and classless.”
Now, it seems like there is a full-fledged war of words between the two actors. Vivek Oberoi stood his ground saying he had done nothing wrong. He even took a dig at Sonam Kapoor, saying that some people react to comments “only to seem cool.”
Vivek added: “I would like to ask Sonam as to what she has done for women empowerment. In the past 10 years, we have taken the initiative to educate the girl child, rescue children from prostitution and forced labour. Many of them have even got scholarships to the US and UK. I have done my bit. I have been working for women for the past 10 years, the time when Sonam was focusing on her makeover.”
