Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to share a story in memory of Jatin Dulera, a young fan who passed away suddenly on 10 June. “RIP lil homie,” he wrote.

According to paparazzi photographer Viral Bhayani, Jatin used to work in the same building where Farhan Akhtar’s office is located in Mumbai and would tip him off about celebrity sightings. The teenager had reportedly expressed a desire to work with him as a photographer as well. Ranveer had met Jatin a few times and posed for several photos with him. Jatin had also met celebs such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

In a post shared on Instagram, Viral said that Jatin was getting ready to go to work when he collapsed in his bathroom and never regained consciousness. His last rites were held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. “One of my followers, he often tipped me about celebs whereabouts and sometimes even contributed videos to me but never wanted me to credit him. He also had asked me if he could join me. His funeral took place at Shivaji Park where around 700 friends of his turned up. Keep smiling Jatin like you always did, we will miss you,” he wrote.

Ranveer Singh is currently shooting for Kabir Khan directorial 83, which is based on India’s historic win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. He plays former Indian skipper Kapil Dev in the film, while Deepika Padukone will essay the role of Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia. 83 also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Hardy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Saqib Saleem, Tahir Bhasin, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar. The film releases on 10 April 2020.
