Bas Oscar Le Aana: Farhan’s Wish For Sis Zoya on Her B’Day

The Sky Is Pink actor Farhan Akhtar’s birthday wish for Zoya is sibling love at its peak. As the Gully Boy director turns a year older, Farhan took to social media to post an adorable photo of the two of them. In the photo, both look visibly younger and are dressed in a monochrome palette. Farhan has captioned the photo, “Happy birthday @zoieakhtar .. may you get all that your heart desires.” But that’s not all. He further adds, “Bas Oscar le aana (Just bring an Oscar home). Love you.”
In September it was announced that Raveer-Alia starrer Gully Boy was India’s official entry for the 92nd Academy Awards. Farhan’s comment is a reference to that.

Gully Boy actor Alia Bhatt also took to Instagram to wish Zoya. She shared an image of the comic book character Wonder Woman and wished Zoya. Essentially, calling her the Wonder Woman.
Director Alankrita Shrivastava also wished Zoya. She wrote, “Happy Birthday to my favourite #ZoyaAkhtar Thank you for your madness and your fire and your laughter. And most of all thank you for your stories and your vision! Much love. Keep shining!”
Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. It released in February 2019 and is loosely based on the lives of Indian rappers Divine and Naezy.
Zoya has many feathers to her cap. In July, she was offered the opportunity to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Amongst other Indian artists like Anupam Kher, Anurag Kashyap and Ritesh Batra. Her father, Javed Akhtar, and brother Farhan had both congratulated her on social media.
