Matt Damon’s Father, Kent Damon, Loses Battle to Cancer at 74

After fighting cancer for years, Matt Damon’s father, Kent Damon, passed away at the age of 74, in Massachusetts.

It was Damon’s publicist, Jennifer Allen, that informed the media about Kent Damon’s demise that occurred on 14 December.

Kent Damon’s condition had worsened over the past few months and it is reported that he died of complications from a rare blood disease that affects bone marrow called Multiple Myeloma.

The Martian star has been working to raise funds for cancer research, ever since his father was diagnosed in 2010. He had also reportedly been taking it slow the past few months, which is also why he was missing from the BAFTA awards.

“It’s been a slow, unfolding, my dad’s sick, so that’s been a process we’re going through. We’ll take any prayers you got, so throw ’em up there.”
