Madhuri Dixit is not just turning producer with Marathi films, she’s also planning an acting debut in her mother tongue. According to an IANS report, the actress will be playing the lead in the yet-to-be-titled project, which is reportedly a slice-of-life film that revolves around a woman's journey of self-realisation. The film will be directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, who has also written the film script along with Devashree Shivadekar.
The film apparently has a touch of humour and is likely to go on floors by the end of 2017. Madhuri won’t be producing her acting debut though we hear. Madhuri has expressed her desire to act in a Marathi film on several occasions, but has been waiting for the right script to come along. Having appeared in over 75 films so far, this would be her first ever Marathi film as an actor.
It is co-produced by Ashok Subhedar and Aarti Subhedar of Blue Mustang Creations along with Vivek Rangachari and Arun Rangachari of Dar Motion Pictures.
