Luke Perry, popularly known for playing the teen heartthrob Dylan McKay in the 90’s hit TV show Beverly Hills, 90210 passed away on 4th March after suffering a massive stroke. Perry was recently seen as Archie’s dad Fred Andrews on the show Riverdale. The 52-year-old actor’s death was confirmed in a statement by his representative, which said:

“He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”

Celebrity friends and actors who’ve worked with Perry paid their tribute to the popular actor on social media.

Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper in Riverdale, called the news ‘unbelievable’.

Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones in the show, shared a priceless picture of Perry from their time together.

Robin Givens, who co-starred with Perry on all three seasons of "Riverdale", tweeted that Perry was "one of the kindest most gentle souls this world has ever known". She also shared a selfie of some of the members of the Riverdale cast, including Perry, with a heart-warming message.

Leonardo DiCaprio, who co-stars in Perry's final and upcoming film Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, praised Perry's kindness as well as his talent.

Joss Whedon, who wrote "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", the movie in which Perry acted, recalled: "The first time I met Luke Perry we talked about what kind of movie we wanted 'Buffy' to be. I asked if he'd ever seen 'Near Dark' and he gave me a look of How dare you Sir and I knew we'd get along. Funny, committed, and always gracious. He shouldn't be gone."
