Recently, Katy Perry was in India as she was headlining the OnePlus Music Festival that was held in Mumbai on 16 November. On the day of her departure from Mumbai, a video of Katy Perry at the Mumbai International Airport went viral.
In the video, Katy Perry can be seen entering the airport. As fans call out to her for autographs and selfies, she stops for one. However, right before she enters the airport, Katy Perry seems to disobey security protocol as the police officer standing at the door repeatedly keeps asking her for her identity proof. But Katy Perry simply walks in. Then the guard tries to stop the man with Katy Perry. He gestures at something and continues walking. The police officer can be heard saying “ID please?” again and again.

Many netizens took to social media to slam Katy Perry for not following the rules. “They should respect our law....very shameful act, remember shahrukh Khan incident,” wrote one Instagram user. Another defended, “U know what now they will rather blame the police man did not did his duty....and the white were very good.”
Another user questioned, “Without any documents how they were allowed to enter?”
Some angry comments also surfaced, “CHECK HER IDENTITY, WHAT RUBBISH IS THIS?”
However, one netizen came out in support of Katy Perry. Explaining her behavior, he said, “People who are mad at @katyperry Guys, the security protocol at Indian Airport is way different from all the other airports. As a travel vlogger I can confirm this. In other country airports you don't have a security personnel at the gate. She did not know. #KatyPerryinIndia”
Katy Perry arrived in India on 12 November, after her last visit seven years ago. She was headlining the OnePlus Music Festival, where singer Dua Lipa was also performing. During her stay in Mumbai, Katy attended a welcome party thrown by Karan Johar on 14 November. A whole lot of Bollywood stars turned up for the party, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Gauri Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput, Kiara Advani, onakshi Sinha and many others.
