Kartik Aaryan was most recently in Punjab, filming for the upcoming sequel Dostana 2 with Janhvi Kapoor. On 21 November, Kartik took to social media to share that the first schedule of Dostana 2 had been completed. He posted a selfie with Janhvi Kapoor and the rest of the crew.

The caption reads, “Nyt shoot ends and so does #Dostana2 ka Punjab Schedule First Schedule Wraps”

Dostana 2 is a sequel to 2008’s Dostana, which starred John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. The Tarun Mansukhani directorial was about two men who pretend to be a gay couple in order to rent an apartment. Trouble ensues when they both fall for the same girl.

Kartik Aaryan will next be seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh with Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. It will release on 2 December. The film is a remake of BR Chopra’s hit classic of the same name starring Sanjeev Kumar. Speaking about the relevance of such an old story, Ananya Panday had said, “The generation of that decade could relate to it, and today's generation will associate with our version of the film.”

The new Pati Patni Aur Woh is the story of Chintu Tyagi’s (Kartik Aaryan) extra marital affair. In the trailer, he can be seen lamenting to Aparshakti Khurrana that his father had tricked him into getting married at a young age. He sure loves his wife (Bhumi Pednekar), but when Tapasya (Ananya Panday) steps into Chintu’s life, his loyalties shift in seconds.
