In a press conference to promote his Punjabi film, Son of Manjeet Singh, comedian-actor-producer, Kapil Sharma told the press that he has sung two songs for the film.

When one of the women from the media requested him to sing, he said that he would rather croon another romantic song for her, erupting into peals of laughter. He immediately retracted his statement and apologised saying that the remark unwittingly slipped out of his mouth. The footage towards the end of the video corroborates the instance.

In April, Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma, in an interview to IANS had said he wanted some "me time to "recuperate". I've been working too hard for too long. There is a lot in the pipeline and lot of new exciting projects which I will talk about soon," Kapil told IANS in an e-mail interview when asked about the reason behind his absence from the small screen so abruptly.

He announced his return to TV with The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony, which is likely to premier around Diwali, this year, as he confirms in the video. Sharma is also returning to the film industry as a producer with the aforementioned Punjabi film.

Is the #MeToo movement sensitising celebrities?

Kapil Sharma has now been taking proactive steps regaining his health. He was in a holistic medical centre in Bengaluru. The comedian is reportedly set to marry his girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in December 2018.
