When Dil Se released in 1998, Malaika Arora took everyone by storm with her powerful presence in Chaiyya Chaiyya. Till date, the song is remembered because of two things - the train and her. Then to now, the VJ turned model has donned many caps - actor, dancer, producer, judge, entrepreneur and what not.

Though she’ll always remain the Chaiyya Chaiyya girl for us, recently she has been in news for many other things too. From opening up about her divorce with Arbaaz Khan, to making her relationship with Arjun Kapoor public, Malaika has never been the sort to shy away from the world.

As Malaika turns a year older, we take a look at how the year turned out for her, through pictures.

Ever since her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, rumours were rife about her relationship with Arjun Kapoor.

Soon enough, Malaika wished Arjun on his birthday with this adorable picture of the two. 

She stunned everyone in beautiful green lehenga at the last Lakme Fashion Week.

“People are intimidated by an opinionated woman and the best weapon they have is slander,” she said in an interview.

On getting trolled for her relationship with Arjun, she said, “Love doesn’t come with age limits. Being in this relationship truly feels amazing.”

As one of the judges for India’s Got Talent, Malaika left no stone unturned to bring out the best in people. 

She was also in the judges’ panel for MTV India’s Next Top Model.

Having been a successful model herself, there couldn’t have been a better choice for a judge. 

Crediting her fitness to yoga, Malaika turned entrepreneur by launching a chain of yoga schools in the city, called ‘Divayoga’.

From Chaiyya Chaiyya, she has come a long way and we’re sure that the best of her is yet to come.
