‘Pakeezah’ Actor Geeta Kapoor Cremated By Daughter

Pakeezah actor Geeta Kapoor breathed her last on Saturday, after an arduous wait for her son, Raja, who had abandoned her last year. Producer Ramesh Taurani and Central Bureau of Film Certification (CBFC) member, Ashoke Pandit had put her up at an old age home after settling her hospital bills.

The veteran actor longed to see her son, but her last wish remained unfulfilled. It was Geeta Kapoor’s daughter and sisters that performed her last rites on Sunday night. The media was informed by CBFC member Ashoke Pandit.

Ashoke Pandit had earlier shared that they would wait for two days for her son, Raja to surface, while the mortal remains of the late Geeta Kapoor were stored at Cooper Hospital. However, it was the late actor’s daughter, Aaradhya who performed the last rites, much to the chagrin of Pandit, as she did it without informing anyone.

“I called up the doctors to check on the matter and they informed me that the actress’ last rites have been done by daughter Aradhaya, last night.  They didn’t want anybody to be present and son is still nowhere in the scene.”
