Mumbai Police Additional CP Manoj Sharma says 'Oshiwara Police has registered an FIR against Alok Nath under section 376 of IPC (rape) on the complaint filed by Vinta Nanda,' reports ANI.

Earlier, when Vinta Nanda had taken to social media to level allegations of rape against him, Nath had filed a defamation suit against Nanda. The actor also sought a gag order, demanding that Nanda not be allowed to speak to the media regarding the allegations. This had, however, been quashed.

The case will be coming up in court in February 2019.

The Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) has severed all ties with actor Alok Nath who has been accused of harassing several actors and raping director and producer Vinta Nanda.

Amid the #MeToo movement that got sparked in India after Tanushree Dutta renewed a decade-old allegation against Nana Patekar, Nanda of Tara fame levelled allegations of rape against Alok, who has for years enjoyed a holier than thou image on-screen.
