Here’s the Voice Cast for The Lion King’s Hindi & English Versions
The Lion King releases on 19 July, in Hindi and English
After it was announced that Aryan Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will be playing the roles of Simba and Mufasa, respectively in The Lion King’s hindi version, fans couldn’t wait to know the rest of the cast. Disney released the list of the remaining voice cast and we have a list of phenomenal actors dubbing for the film. While the revealed Hindi cast still doesn’t have the final actors for Nala, Rafiki and Sarabi, the English version’s complete list is out.
The Hindi Cast
1. Shah Rukh Khan as Mufasa
We don’t think there could have been a better man to play Mufasa, than the King of Bollywood himself. His voice in the teaser completely justifies his role as the king of the jungle and we just can’t contain our excitement.
2. Aryan Khan as Simba
Who better to play Simba to SRK’s Mufasa? We can’t wait for the real life father-son duo to play the reel life characters.
3. Ashish Vidyarthi as Scar
The popular Bollywood villain is all set to reprise the role of Scar, The Lion King’s main negative character.
4. Shreyas Talpade as Timon
After playing Shah Rukh’s best friend in Om Shanti Om, Shreyas will now be dubbing for the character of Aryan Khan’s (Simba) best friend, Timon. Life does come a full circle, doesn’t it?
5. Sanjay Mishra as Pumbaa
The Golmaal actor will be voicing the character of Pumbaa, the third best friend in Simba and Timon’s group, and who adopts a young Simba.
6. Asrani as Zazu
The Bollywood veteran will be voicing the wise red-billed hornbill Zazu, who plays the advisor to King of the Pride Lands.
The English Cast
1. James Earl Jones as Mufasa
The Academy nominated actor will be dubbing for Mufasa in Disney’s Lion King. Hehas also voiced a character in Star Wars.
2. Donald Glover as Simba
The Spiderman: Homecoming actor will be voicing Simba’s character in the film.
3. Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar
The phenomenal actor, who has acted and won awards for films like Children of Men, 12 Years a Slave, will play the role of the treacherous Scar in the film. This will definitely be worth waiting.
4. Beyonce as Nala
We bet nobody can wait to hear Beyonce’s voice as Nala, Simba’s love interest. Even at the film’s London premiere, the singer stunned in a yellow gown, looking every bit of her character.
5. Billy Eichner as Timon
Timon’s character will be voiced by none other than Billy Eichner.
6. Seth Rogen as Pumbaa
The actor comedian will do complete justice to Pumbaa’s role as the one who adopted a young Simba.
7. John Oliver as Zazu
Giving a fresh look to Zazu, John Oliver is the perfect man to voice this character. The royal advisor to Mufasa and then Simba, Zazu will sound perfect in John’s voice.
8. John Kani as Rafiki
The Black Panther actor will be playing the role of the wise mandrill, Rafiki.
