Excited fans across the country have been counting down the hours to Thursday, 14 February - the official date of release for the Ranveer Singh-starrer Gully Boy.

Bollywood celebrities attended a special screening held on 13 February. Take a look at the pics below:

And after a special screening held at Yash Raj studios on Monday, 11 February, several of B-town’s seemed to have joined the fandom!

Tweeting out only praise for director Zoya Akhtar’s chronicling the life of Mumbai’s underground rap scene, these leading actors, directors, producers and musicians have all claimed to feature the movie, which also stars Alia Bhatt, in their “must-watch” and “highly-recommended” lists.

‘Superbly Directed Film’

Actor Rahul Bose, who co-starred with Ranveer Singh in Dil Dhadakne Do, called it a “superbly directed” film, and Ranveer’s “finest work”. He even lauded Alia for her “brilliant, achingly true performance”.

‘Each Scene is Magic Unfurling’

Manto actor Divya Dutta, after watching the movie, claimed that each of its scenes had “magic unfurling”.

She also had only the highest praises for the movie’s protagonist - Ranveer - who plays a character named ‘Naved’.

‘A Masterpiece’

Shankar Mahadevan, who along with Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa has composed the film’s music, also watched it for the first time on the screen on Monday. Sharing pictures with the cast and crew from the screening, Mahadevan called it a “masterpiece” by Zoya Akhtar and was “blown away” by Ranveer’s acting.

‘Ticks All the Boxes’

Meanwhile Atul Kasbekar, producer of Neerja, claimed that Gully Boy ticked all the right boxes and claimed that it was one of the ten best Hindi films which he had seen.

With more premiers lined up before the official release, we can surely expect even more celebs to join the Gully Boy fandom in no time at all!
