Father’s Day is a special time to show some love to your dad. But let’s be a little realistic here - Indian fathers are far from a mushy lot. So instead, let’s celebrate the special day with none other than Bhuvan Bam who lists out eight hilarious, but true things every Indian dad is heard saying.

For the uninitiated, Bhuvan Bam is aka BB ki Vines is a social media sensation with over 8.2 M subscribers on Youtube, 4.3M Followers on Instagram and almost 2M followers on Twitter.

1. Life Lessons on Being Responsible

To begin with, Indian fathers find various ways to give life lessons to their children on being responsible. Bhuvan says, “Yeh paani ki bottles kaun bharega? Tumhaara saare kaam hum kare?!” Because filling paani ki bottles is your first step to becoming an adult.

2. The Wake-Up Alarm

Remember those early mornings, when your father especially enters the room and switches off the fan or AC, simply because the machine needs some rest?

3. Early Risers = Healthy Life

Waking up at 6 am is good for your health. Or so daddy says. “But what if daddy is not even aware about the fact that your child has not slept all night? Do you think that is healthy?” asks Bhuvan!

4. Shaadi Ke Rishtey

Papa ko tumhaari shaadi karwaane ka bohot shauk hai!” says Bhuvan. “As soon as you enter a certain age, around 24-25, shaadi ki talwar tumhaare sar pe latakne lag jaati. And then your dad comes up with all the rishtas they receive from their friends for you! Simply because their daughters are marriage-ready, doesn’t matter whether you are or not!”

5. Faltu Ke Kharche

Indian fathers hate your expenses. “If you buy a new shirt, they never understand. According to them, till the time your old shirt looks decent after a wash and ironing, it’s good to go! Because ironing is bae you see!”

6. The Grooming Rant

Of course, we have all been through this one. “Especially if you have long hair just like me, you have to hear at least once a week, ‘Beta baal katwaale’. But at the end of the day it’s up to you whether you want to do it or not. “I haven’t listened to him yet!” Bhuvan quips.

7. Papa Tactics

And then the time when you enter your house after a late night, and your dad comes to you sniffing. “Although he knows I am not into anything like alcohol, cigarette or drugs, these are just his tactics to put you in a spot!” says Bhuvan.

8. Girlfriend Diaries

There are times when your father comes and randomly asks you about your girlfriend. Strange thing is when you tell them that you don’t have a girlfriend, they go like you are lying. And if you tell them that you have one, they refuse to believe you!

Well that’s the story of every Indian father. But as much as we get irked with them, we can’t deny that we also truly love them. Happy Father’s Day!
