The Quint's new podcast series, Tell Me All with Swati Chopra will bring you stories that are raw, personal, and honest.
In each episode, we go beyond the surface to uncover the guests' experiences and challenges, talk through their journey and pull back the curtains to learn about the person behind them. No filters, no fluff — just conversations that matter.
In our first episode, we begin with a voice that has reclaimed her narrative in the harshest of environments — content creator Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid.
The Quint spoke to her about growing up in a home where emotions were buried to finding her voice. She talks about the rebellion that started at home tuned into a rebellion against the internet, the India's got Latent Controversy , the cost of being a woman online, why she still feels like a 17-year-old girl looking for love, what it means to be a woman content creator, censorship, being a part of 'The Traitors', and more.
When we spoke to Apoorva about the India's Got Latent controversy, where multiple FIRs were filed in Maharashtra against her and others on the show, who were called in for questioning by the police, she said, "for the first 12-hours, I was in disbeIief. Then I was very scared of losing my career. But then I thought, I would do something else - may not be in the public eye, because people aren't going to accept me."
When Apoorva made her comeback post the controversy, she shared the death, acid and rape threats she had received since her appearance on the now cancelled online comedy show. She also spoke about a person online who made a video saying, she deserved those threats.
While The Rebel Kid may be unapologetic, Apoorva wasn't.
"Growing up, I apologised a lot for my behaviour, but it started to get exhausting. I stopped because I realised that I wasn't going to get the validation from the people (her family) I was seeking it from."
She also spoke about being single for the first time in her life, after having dated since Grade 7, "I just loved validation from outside my home -and making them see me for who I really was. That got exhausting too. Today, I am in a better place with my family, and that has helped my mental health."
The Traitors contestant, also spoke about her father's reaction when he first learnt about her online presence, "someone from my society showed him the videos, and he lost it."
