Alec Baldwin Arrested, Charged With Assault in New York

Actor Alec Baldwin, best known today for his portrayal of US President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live, was arrested and charged for assault and harassment on 2 November, the New York police has informed.

According to CNN, NYPD Lieutenant John Grimpel said that the incident happened in Manhattan in a dispute over a parking spot. A 49-year-old man sustained an injury from a punch and underwent treatment at a local hospital. Baldwin was charged with assault and harassment and given a desk appearance ticket, the NYPD said.

The NYPD added that Baldwin, who also hosts The Alec Baldwin Show on ABC, will appear in court at a later date.
