Bollywood actor Nafisa Ali Sodhi on Monday took to social media to announce her comeback to Indian cinema. She posted a black and white photo of herself, the caption of which talks about how she’s looking for “an elegant role to portray in Indian cinema.” She further adds that she wants a “perfect script” meant for a “senior actor”, and that she’d prefer to play the role of “a minority.”

“I am Nafisa Ali Sodhi and I would like an elegant role to portray in Indian cinema . So looking for a perfect script as an senior actor , a minority , I need to work to express my emotions .I will not be dictated to. May God give each of us the strength to follow our dreams . Stop targeting young women in India. Stop religious intolerance. Stop dictating to Indians . India is unique and we must protect our secular fabric .Stop this divide and rule . Focus on a better world,” she wrote as the caption.

Known for her roles in Bollywood films like Life in A... Metro, Guzaarish and Junoon, Nafisa was recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. In November, she took to Instagram to share a photo of herself losing hair due to chemotherapy. “My hair has started falling out in heaps ... it made me cry ... not for vanity but the reality that I have cancer and that Chemotherapy is working finally sank in . I will shave my hair off tomorrow,” she wrote.

Ever since, Nasifa has been actively sharing her journey on social media and it seems that after taking a short hiatus from acting, she’s all prepared to come back and in search for strong, well-written scripts.
