‘Murder 2’ Actor Prashant Narayanan Arrested in Cheating Case
Both Prashant Narayanan and his wife have been arrested.
Bollywood actor Prashant Narayanan has been arrested following his alleged involvement in a cheating case, a Kerala police officer told IANS. Inspector A. Prathap, who arrested the 50-year-old actor and his wife Shona, said that they were in judicial custody.
“The case pertains to cheating. The complainant is Thomas Panicker, who was the producer of a Malayalam film, in which Narayanan acted in 2017. After the film, the duo became friends and Panicker was told that his (Prashant’s) wife’s father had a company in Mumbai and if he invested in it, he would be made a director. Panicker invested Rs 1.20 crore only to realise that he has been cheated. He then filed the complaint,” said Prathap.
The inspector added that he, along with a seven member Kerala Police team, reached Mumbai and after a surveillance for three days, they managed to nab the actor and his wife.
The Thalassery Additional Judicial Magistrate court granted judicial remand of the couple till 20 September. Narayanan has acted in over 50 films, mostly in Hindi and South Indian languages, including Malayalam.
Among his prominent films are Shadows of Time, Murder 2 and Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II. He was last seen in PM Narendra Modi.
