Anurag Kashyap’s ambitious period drama Bombay Velvet is currently facing trouble at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to reports, the Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma starrer was screened for members of the CBFC last week and the Board recommended an ‘Adults’ certificate for it. The CBFC allegedly has a problem with the amount of violence in the film as well as certain swear words used by its actors.

However Anurag and the film’s producers are not willing to accept an ‘Adults’ certification for their film and have approached the CBFC’s Revising Committee for a fresh verdict. Considering Bombay Velvet’s huge budget, an Adults only certification immediately cuts down the film’s audience and reach in theatres, the makers are hoping to get a ‘UA’ tag for their film.
