Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s tasteless tweets on Women’s Day have landed him in legal trouble. The filmmaker had posted a series of messages on social media on Wednesday “celebrating” Women’s Day of which one was:

While RGV received a backlash on Twitter for his crass tweet, Vishaka Mhambrey of the Ranaragini - a women’s wing of the Hindu Janajagruti group, has reportedly filed a police complaint against him in Goa.

The complainant has asked for the filmmaker’s Twitter account to be permanently blocked.

Pratiksha Korgaonkar, State Organiser of the Ranaragini group has reportedly said, “Ram Gopal Varma should tender public apology to all women for his hateful statement. Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma remained unperturbed by all the slamming he received for his tweets and continued to post messages in his defence.

First, Awhad asked RGV to apologise or face the “consequences”:

And when Awhad asked him to go ahead and file a complaint, RGV too responded to his threat with:

Finally, RGV called out Awhad for being an hypocrite by posting a screenshot of the political leader’s Twitter bio which says - “Right or Wrong i express wat i feel”.
