The two latest Friday releases, Kangana Ranaut’s Simran and Farhan Akhtar’s Lucknow Central witnessed slow growth over the weekend.

While Kangana Ranaut remained in the news for her various controversies for weeks, Simran did not make much of a splash at the box-office. The film collected Rs 10.65 crore over the weekend.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Simran witnessed a drop in its growth on Sunday, but also attributed it to the first ODI cricket match between India and Australia.

Farhan Akhtar’s Lucknow Central made significantly lesser buzz before its release and hasn’t been performing well at the box-office, either. The film garnered Rs 8.42 crore till Sunday.

We’ll have to see how the two films fare in the coming week.
