Veere Di Wedding has taken the box-office by storm from day one. And now the Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam K Ahuja, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania-starrer has raked in Rs 100 crore at the global box office.

The makers shared the news with a telling poster showcasing a bejewelled middle finger.

The film had raked in Rs 56.96 crore by the end of the first week. It did see a drop from the first day’s collection but industry experts suggested that, ‘as the opening was a strong number, this trend is good enough for the film to emerge a hit and do business around the Rs 75 crore mark’.

Co-producer Rhea Kapoor had previously spoken to The Quint about how difficult it was to sell the film to distributors.

“The thing about this film is there are four girls in the film and they are all making mistakes all the time. So basically when you narrate a film like that, which is not preachy, it is not easy for funders and distributors to swallow. It’s not every ones cup of tea, so it was really difficult to sell it.”
Rhea Kapoor,

Veere di Wedding is a high spirited and upbeat coming of age story revolving around the lives of four childhood friends Kalindi (Kareena Kapoor), Avni (Sonam kapoor), Meera (ShikhaTalsania) & Sakshi (Swara Bhaskar). The film is set against the backdrop of Delhi, where the girls are born and brought up, their trials and tribulations in modern day world, regarding family acceptance, marriage and societal perceptions.
